Google Applications
Similar to Microsoft Word, Google Document is a word processor. However, rather than be stored on a computer hard drive, a Google Document is saved to an online drive which can be accessed from any computer as long as it is connected to the internet. The following button contains a brief document that review three different websites that could be useful while teaching.
The Google counterpart to Microsoft Excel, Google Spreadsheet is also stored on the internet. The following button contains a spreadsheet that documents the average temperature for five different cities over five days. I have also utilized some special features of Google Spreadsheet in order to create a bar graph which presents the information quite colorfully.
In a like manner, Google Presentation is Google's version of Powerpoint. The following button contains a presentation that documents the 2011 marching band season for Ocean View High School's Seahawks Squadron from beginning to end. As the drum captain, I participated in this season as one of the leaders, playing the xylophone in the pit.
Google Forms is an application unique to Google. It allows me to create individual tests and questionnaires that are easily accessed by others. When others complete the Google Form, then their answers are automatically included in a Google Spreadsheet for easy access and analysis. The following button contains a mock form that asks some silly questions about a movie theater.
Google Drawing is another application that is unique to Google. It allows me to create pictures using symbols, lines and other pictures. The following button contains a mock advertisement for sunglasses.
